Phyllis McGrath is an experienced corporate foundation manager, having served as an officer of The General Electric Foundation before joining Lucent Technologies as Vice President, Foundation Programs.  McGrath has worked in the U.S. and around the world on program strategy and development, creation of foundations, and evaluation of programs.  As a volunteer, currently, she is Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Scholarship America (formerly Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of America), the largest non-profit student financial aid organization in the U.S.  Scholarship America, with McGrath’s leadership, is the organization behind the $135 Million Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, for children and spouses of 9/11 victims, co-chaired by former President Bill Clinton and former Senator Bob Dole.


Ann Korando left a highly successful career in commercial real estate to become one of the country’s leading fundraisers in science education.  Over the past twelve years, she has secured over $50 million from corporations, government agencies and foundations for major programs such as the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair and the Intel Science Talent Search.  Additionally, she created and managed educational programs such as the Discovery Channel Young Scientists Challenge, the NEC Foundation 10th Anniversary Celebration, and the National Science Foundation’s 50th Anniversary programs.  She has also led the move toward collaboration among the government, corporations and the non-profit sector to promote a national public awareness campaign on the importance of science literacy.  She serves on the boards of the Kentuckians of New York and the Center for Science Teaching Learning.
